GORDON BROWN: THE BIGGEST BOOM AND BUST MERCHANT IN HISTORY

Friday January 30,2009

Gordon Brown: The biggest boom and bust merchant in history

Did Gordon Brown sleep on the job when he was Chancellor?

GORDON Brown isn’t going to wriggle out of this mess.

As much as he would like to blame external forces such as the American banking system for Britain’s financial plight. An end to boom and bust, indeed.

When I think back to all his Budget performances, I see only the lost hours of my life that I will never regain.

He would gabble through Budget statements at breakneck speed only to dwell on the word ‘prudence.’ What tosh it all seems now.

VIDEO: WATCH HOW GORDON GOT IT SO, SO, SO WRONG...

We financial journalists were alive to the prospect of stealth taxes, tweaks on National Insurance, the dusting down of old policies as though they were new and all the other sleight of hand.

But with his smirking master Tony Blair behind him, as Chancellor, Gordon Brown gave an impression of competence. Supporting this was what seemed to be an impressive record of economic growth.

We can now see this was built on reckless Government spending, an unsustainable housing boom, and soaring consumer spending. No, he didn’t fix the roof when the sun was shining.

We are set to suffer in the global recession worse than any other major industrial country according to the International Monetary Fund. Yet the Prime Minister continues to preach responsibility to the rest of the world.

At every turn from the raid on the pension funds and the ill-timed sale of our gold reserves to espousing the light-touch regulation that made the Northern Rock debacle possible, the man has got it wrong.

The pity is we are probably going to be made to wait until the last possible date for a General Election - that takes us to spring 2010 to be rid of him.

This is unless his own MPs recognise that the man is unelectable and they stand a better chance of holding to their jobs if they kick him upstairs to keep Lord Mandelson company.

But it won’t save the Labour Party from defeat.

BROWNS USED TO D-WORD

04.02.2009, 3:32pm

Sorry folks, but Browns opened the
door to a possible depression.

Have any of you opened the back of a
computer and ever marvelled at the
technology. Our politicians of the last
30 years never did. Its grimey, tiresome,
it's what the unsophisticated do...........

no, what we'll do in this country is we'll
celebrate the tax man........

anyone that is non-productive.

Lets raise everyone above their true
worth........... and it's ending in tears.

Depression coming,

The Bankers are thieves.
The Mortgage Brokers are thieves.
The Lords are thieves.
The Politicians are thieves.
The Councils are incompetent.
The Civil Service are self-replicating parasitic bureaucrats, and worse than all of the above.
The NHS kill thousands each year.
N.I.C.E. are not very nice.
Usless Police only solve 1 crime in 200.
The Planners are unqualified.
Health & Safety are crazy.
All of the above are regulated by Ombudsmen with no legal qualifications.
The Law only serves the very rich and the very poor.
The brain drain has been in progress for 40 years.
The Conservative Party are set to inherit a train wreck.
Apocapypse now.

BROWN ALWAYS GETS IT WRONG

03.02.2009, 7:10pm

Brown said, Jobs for British Workers. Then they say as we are in the EU All workers from the EU are entitled to jobs. Well, The Channel Islands are part of the UK and UK workers have never been welcome in the Channel Islands. Only Millionaires (Brown Can Go There) The Channel Islands UK set the precedent. Jobs In the UK are for British Workers first and then any left over can go to the EU Workers.
BROWN OUT; BRITISH WORKERS IN

03.02.2009, 5:20pm

Come on, come on be fair very easy to criticise and pick on BROWN ..but what about the rest?
The overall result is down to labourism.........labourites are and never have been any different....incompetance, inane attitudes, inefficiency, inexpereience and unsuitability sums them up.
All the while they are in government things wont change at all.
