From April 2011, tax breaks that save parents up to £1,195 year each towards their childcare costs will be stopped.
 
This will be a massive blow to hard-working, middle-income families who, research has shown, will be the worse affected.
 
As childcare is now an average £8,500 a year, a household with two parents using vouchers could face a 20 per cent rise in their costs.
 
This dreadful and expensive penalty to working parents must be stopped.
 
With luck, Brown and his New Labour cronies won’t be around after the next general election to see this through.
 
And one would imagine that David Cameron and the Tories would have the good sense not to kill off such a vital scheme that will make families even more cash-strapped than they already are these days.
 
But no one in their right mind would bank on this, so it’s time to fight back.

It already has more than 70,000 signatures, making it the most-signed petition on the site, but the more the better.
 
Also, write your MP and tell them of your displeasure.
 
Working parents must not accept this lying down.
